Covid-19

Traveling Safely during the Pandemic

WELCOME GUESTS!

North Carolina is taking a multi-phased approach – based on data from testing, tracing and trends and in consultation with members of the business community – to restrictions to slow the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic and save lives. Learn more below about restrictions currently in place.  https://www.nc.gov/covid-19/staying-ahead-curve?ct=t

Cleaning / Bedding

We employ diligent and thorough cleaning protocol when readying your vacation home.  We use EPA-approved products to ensure the safety and cleanliness of each of our homes.  In response to the pandemic in 2020, we removed the comforaters from the beds and provided a blanket in the closet for the warm layer.  We have lifted that restriction and the beds will have the comforters on them for the 2021 season.  Blankets will still be available in the closet.

Supplies

Supplies seem to be readily available.  The notable exception is the restriction in our local grocery store to TWO packs of toilet paper per visit.   In response we will supply one roll of TP to the powder room of each house.  If supplies ease up, we will supply one roll to the remainder bathrooms.  The rest of our “startup” supplies include a few dishwasher tabs, a small amount of liquid dishwashing soap, and a roll of paper towels.  We will also provide a can liner for the kitchen and bath trash cans.

 STAY HOME, STAY HEALTHY!

We take the health of our guests and our entire Outer Banks community very seriously. Please, if you or any of your party are feeling sick at the time of your vacation, stay home! Carova residents are fortunate to have a relatively isolated geographic location; however, if the virus comes to our sanctuary it could be devastating for our small community. Please follow the advice of the CDC, if you are feeling unwell, Stay Home!  Give us a call if you are concerned that you or someone in your party may pose a health risk at the time of your vacation. Thank you!

Currituck Bulletin:

Before traveling to the Outer Banks, visitors are encouraged to contact their accommodations provider to confirm their reservation and arrival plans. As visitors prepare for vacation, it is important to remember that the coronavirus is not over. There are still State and local restrictions in effect to protect everyone’s safety.  For example:

  • The mass gathering limit has increased to 50 indoors and 100 outdoors.
  • Face coverings are still required in public when it is not possible to maintain social distancing from non-household members. This requirement applies to any public place or business – indoor or outdoor.
  • The  restriction on the late night sale of alcohol has been lifted.  The cap on the number of people who can gather at any one time in certain indoor spaces, such as bars, is lifted.
  • See this link for further details on capacity limits in other businesses:  https://www.nc.gov/covid-19/current-restrictions/faqs-eased-restrictions…

Also, remember that the CDC recommends not to travel if you are sick or were recently exposed (within 14 days) to COVID-19. Additionally, individuals are encouraged to wear a mask or cloth face covering in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.

Like many places in the United States, visitors should expect to see changes in product availability as supply chain demand fluctuates across the nation. If possible, bring essentials with you, including paper products and non-perishable groceries.
